Rodrigo O’Byrne is CEO of Enerwire, the leading wire and cable manufacturing company in Central America and the Caribbean. Based in El Salvador, Enerwire produces copper, copper-clad aluminum (CCA), and aluminum conductors for residential, commercial, and industrial use, as well as for airlines, ground networks, and renewable energy.
Rodrigo serves on multiple standardization organizations in North, Central, and South America to include the Board of Directors of the Salvadoran Industry Association, is President for El Salvador's National Electrotechnical Committee for IEC, and is a member of the National Electrical Code (NEC) Code Making Panel 6. The NEC is an adoptable standard for the installation of electrical equipment and wiring and has been approved as a United States standard by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The NEC is referenced by Mexico, Venezuela, Costa Rica, and Columbia.
With more than 15 years’ experience and as an advocate and educator for the use of Copper-Clad Aluminum (CCA) in electrical conductors, Rodrigo serves as Vice-President of the American Bimetallic Association. Rodrigo earned an Industrial Engineering degree and an MBA from the Catholic University of Chile.
